Shop hours, location, etc?

We are open 7 days a week, from 11:00am - 9:00pm.  The shop address is: 1145 Broadway, 4FL,  New York, NY 10001, located between 27th and 26th St. You should see a restaurant called Crisp & Green on the first floor. To the left of the restaurant is an entrance with an intercom; please select MagQ in the directory.

What is the shop minimum?

The shop minimum starts at $200 per tattoo. Every artist also has different rates depending on the project/tattoo. Feel free to reach out to us if you’s like to get an estimate for your specific tattoo!

Walk-ins?

Walk-ins are always welcome; however, we cannot guarantee that an artist will be able to help you if you walk in; if this is the case, we would be more than happy to help you book an appointment for the future. Please call ahead to check for availability. If you have a specific artist you’d like to work with and they are not at the shop when you come in, please email/submit an inquiry to receive feedback!

Can I call to make an appointment?

We do not book appointments over the phone. To book an appointment, please submit an inquiry under the “BOOK” page. Once you submit an inquiry, we will get back to you on whether you would need a consultation or if we can move forward with the booking process. If you are in the area, we may be able to help you book the appointment in person.

Can I get an estimate for my tattoo?

In order for us to provide you with an estimate, please submit an inquiry through the ‘BOOK’ page and we will get back to you about pricing! Please do understand that all artists have their own rates based on their experience and expertise.

Do I need to leave a deposit in order to book an appointment?

All appointments require a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit to secure the date/time. The deposit not only secures the appointment but also allows for the artist to start preparing for your appointment. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable with no exceptions. The deposit will go towards the final price/session of your tattoo.

Can I bring friends or family with me?

We do allow one guest to come in with you during your tattoo session. Depending on how busy the shop is, your guest may be asked to wait in the waiting area.

My parents said they will sign a form for me to get a tattoo since I’m underage, does that work for you guys?

In NYC, you must be at least 18 years of age to receive a tattoo. We do not tattoo clients under the age of 18 since parental consent is not applicable. You must bring a non-expired, government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport to the appointment to prove that you are of age. Please make sure to bring your ID with you, since without it, we will not be able to tattoo you. School ID's and ID's without photos/birthdays will not be accepted, no exceptions.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Please get a good night’s sleep the day before and eat before coming in for your appointment. Eating will ensure that your blood sugar is at a normal level. Make sure you stay hydrated as well. If this is your first tattoo or if you have a long session, you are welcome to bring snacks to sustain you during the appointment. Be sure to wear clothing that will make sure the placement of the tattoo is easily accessible. You will be in close contact with the artist during the session, so do not skip out on self-hygiene! No one wants to be around smelly people. Do not consume alcohol or take any blood thinning medication the day or night before your appointment. If you do, it can increase bleeding and can affect the final appearance of the tattoo. We do not tattoo anybody under the influence. Do not rush your artist; make sure you have enough time set aside for the appointment.

How can I reschedule my appointment?

The shop has a 48-hour reschedule/cancellation policy. We allow up to two reschedules if notified before 48 hours of the appointment; if you'd like to reschedule, please email us as soon as possible. Additionally, if you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of the appointment, your deposit will be forfeited, and you will be required to leave a new deposit to reschedule the appointment.

What form of payment is accepted?

The shop is cash preferred and would greatly appreciate it if you come in with cash prepared. There are banks and ATM machines nearby if needed as well. If cash is not an option for you, we do accept credit and debit cards; there will be a New York State sales tax of 4.5% along with a processing fee of 3.5% added. We do not accept Amex or Discover. For any and all tips, you are welcome to give it to the artist directly. We do not accept tips on a card.

I want to book a touch-up for my tattoo! Can I call?

We do not book anything over the phone. To book a touch-up appointment, please email the shop with clear photos of the tattoo and when you initially received it. Please note that not all touch-ups will be complimentary, depending on the tattoo.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, we do! To inquire about any gift cards, please email the shop at: appts@magqtattoo.com so we can help you purchase one.
